Pickin' Peaches

Our Young Men and Young Women got a chance to go to the Church orchards to pick peaches today. I had never been. Our bishop in our last ward told all young mothers that they did not have to go to the cannery or to the orchard because it was there job to raise there children and that all of the old fogies in our ward could and should do it. So needless to say my kids had never been. So, it was a new adventure for all of us. We had 11 girls come. It was great to see so many get up so early the day before school started. We met at the church at 5:30 and had doughnuts and juice then left. When we got there they gave us out basket and sent us to work. Sophie and I stuck together and the men in charge told everyone to fill up there baskets 12 times. The trees were filled with peaches but most of them were to small to pick. The further down the rows you got the more ripe the peaches were. Sophie and I took a ladder and found 1 tree that filled our buckets 5 times. It was a lot of fun. We will do it again soon especially because all of those littler one will be ripe soon!
