PUMPKIN CARVING!

Last night we went to the Well's to celebrate Kyle's birthday and to carve pumpkins.  It was fun.
Emerson LOVES Ben!  He would not stop looking at him.  You know how most babies look over you or just don't make eye contact really?  Well, Emerson was staring so much that Ben couldn't even look at him.  It was hilarious.  He was cooing and talking and having a great time with Ben.  Ben is the baby whisperer!
JoEllen used a Creme Brulee blow torch to light Kyle's candles!  Josh, you would have loved it!
The boys didn't want to carve pumpkins this year so we just did one for Sophie and Josh.  Sophie's is Boynton Beach. Get It?  And Josh's is a super sad version of a Canadian Maple leaf.  I'm not sure what happened.  We'll do better next year.  We'll let Sophie do it.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Extra family stuff

Ben finally got a haircut!  It looks nice.
Dad's Dodgers lost the World Series!  Which is too bad because we have to go to school today and see Mr. Gustavuson who is also a huge Dodger's fan.  The Vice Principal Brook Bergerson is a Red Socks fan and they WON!  So Mr. Gus has to wear a Red Sox jersey today.  Good thing it's only a half day!
We finally have the first semester of the ALEX in and were able to put up Joel's paw prints for all of his kids.  It's starting to look pretty cool.
We started on a new float.  The Gingerbread House! It's by far the easiest!
Here is a time lapse of the roof.
Then I went to Lin's to buy pumpkins and saw PARIS!  It's a horrible picture of both of us but there were people in the line behind me so it was good enough.

Jose and Ozzy Canseco!

It's that time of year again!  Old folks gather from across the globe to relive their glory days.  This year they had more than ever.  This year there were 11,032 athletes that spanned from over 32 different countries!!  This year we had 3 new countries participate for the first time, Belgium, St. Kitts and Nevis.  Quite an incredible feat!  Since Brad designed and made the cauldron he gets to make sure that it lights at the opening ceremonies.  Here are some of his awesome pictures.
Shayne was over the softball which always gets us a front row seat to see Jose Canseco.  But, this year we got an extra surprise, his TWIN brother Ozzy came and played too!  He was much better that Jose.  They both hit homerun after homerun but, Ozzy's went clear to to road and he was much more nimble and played first base.  Jose didn't play outfield at all.  You could see that the years we not nice to him.  I mean he's still very handsome, don't get me wrong, but his body is shot from all the steroid use.  Ozzy, smiled and had fun, Jose didn't crack a single smile.  Even when he hit a homerun, he just shrugged his shoulders and went back and sat down (they don't make them run the bases).
Of course, Joel and the boys had to go chase the balls.  But when they had 6 balls the little old lady who was keeping score came over and said that we had to give some of them back.  Hahaha!  We kept 2 and Shayne kept one.  We had Jose sign one and we gave that one to Brad and we had Ozzy sign the other one and we kept it.  It was the ball that went almost to the road, nearly 500 feet!  It was pretty fun.  Their team took 3rd.  Better than last year.

JOSE #33

 OZZY #30
 Homerun Smile!
 Homerun No Smile.
Jose will also only sign balls from little kids or women and does it all reluctantly.  Ozzy signs for everyone with a smile!  Ozzy also played for the A's!
Ozzy looked like a younger version of Jose.
Shayne got both of their signatures on her ball.
