We had the great pleasure of having Nadia and her two boys, Sasha and Kevin stay with us this past week. They came in on Wednesday night and left Monday. Sasha is 11 and Kevin is 8 and neither of spoke English. It was a little bit of a challenge. But with the little I knew and with the Zero David knew, we actually all had a lot of fun. The boys played a lot of Fortnite and FIFA and sometimes used a interpreter app to tell each other how bad each other sucked at the games! They were instant friends. Joel has not spoken Italian in years. He used to read his scriptures to me in Italian every night. But, that went to the way of reading scriptures with kids and studying for tests and many other things. But, I was surprised on how well his Italian came back to him. By Wednesday he was speaking it pretty well. I think that if we went to Italy we would be OK if we got lost. Hahaha! One night we took them over to The GRIP so they could do some Ninja Warrior stuff. Sasha was really good. He even got his first blister. Which he popped and ripped off.
Then on Sunday we went over to the Carnavale's because Jennae also knows Nadia from serving in Italy about 10 years after Joel. Small world!
Nadia and her boys will have been in the USA for 2 months by the time they get back home next week. That's one heck of a summer vacation! WOW! That would be a trip of a lifetime. We had great fun having them stay with us. Hopefully one day we can go see them in Italy!
