The end of the floats.

So, the next weekend Joel and the boys took the Snowman float with Kyle's truck and Brad and I took the Ice Princess one down with the Tuacahn truck.  We stopped off on the 1st Mesquite exit to re-wrap the Christmas tree on our float and Joel pulled up behind us and someone pulled up behind him and shined their lights on Joel's truck.  So we hurried and got it all fixed and jumped back in and started back down the road.  When we finally got to Summerlin Joel pulled up and the Snowman was GONE off of the trailer!  Brad turned white.  It was not good.  We hurried and unpacked everything and the Joel, the boys and I jumped back in the truck and took off to drive to the beginning of Vegas to see of we could find it.  I even called my friend Jeff who was on the police force and he told me to call the highway patrol.  They had not heard anything about it.  It had disappear.  Joel thinks that whomever was behind him in Mesquite took it.  It was SUPER crappy.  Here is what it was supposed to look like...
This is what it looks like without a snowman.  Pretty plain.  But it has beautiful snowflakes all over it and the bikes that pull it are brown with white lights also.  It's gorgeous.  There are also snowflakes and snowflake lights that go in the trees and lights that go around the bottom.  This was JoEllen's baby.  I never really touched this one.  But the Ice Princess float was my baby.  I did a ton of work on that stinking thing.  My hand was sealed tight after I was done spraying the snowflake on it.  I had to use gasoline to get it off.  It wouldn't just rub off like the rest because it was glittery and sticky.  That float was also Ruby's favorite and it was hard to keep her off of it.  She wanted to be Elsa.  Everyday there were more black little footprints all over it.  And one day she picked a hole in the Polar Bear's Bum!  He's just made out of Styrofoam.  The transformation of this float when all the lights go on it is amazing!

Here are all of the original renderings that Brad drew up.  They were unbelievable.  And when we were all done with it it was completely unbelievable how good they looked.
After we got back from driving around looking for the snowman the dancers were all there and ready to test out the floats.  We had no idea that they were going to do a dress rehearsal that night.  We thought it was the next night.  So we got the floats out and let them take them around the mall.  They were gone for 3 HOURS!!!  It wasn't until 11pm that we got everything back into the garage, found out what damage had been done to them and made a list of what had to be fixed the next day before we could even get started doing what we were there to actually do that next day.  It was very frustrating.  These are picture's of us unloading, unwrapping and lining the floats up for them.
While they practiced we went up to use the bathroom and noticed that they were getting the ice skating rink ready to go.  It was FREEZING that night too and we didn't bring jackets because we thought we would be inside that garage finishing not outside waiting.
When they brought them back we threw them into the garage and left to the hotel.  The next morning we worked out butts off until about 1pm until we stopped for lunch and walked down to each a sandwich at the Duke of Earls Sandwich shoppe.  On our way we passed by a Build-A-Bear!!! So I took some pictures for Sophie. I hadn't seen a Build-A-Bear in years!  Then we walked around for about 5 minutes and got back to work.  We were trying to get done fast so we could leave while the sun was still up so we could look for the snowman but we didn't get out of Vegas until about 8pm. It was ridiculous.  But all the floats were mainly done and down there except SANTA!  Santa wasn't even done being made yet so we couldn't even start painting him.  Oi Vey!

David put more lights on the Gingerbread house.  I put purple and blue snowflakes on the Grinch's float.  Joel and Ben hung cool icicle lights on the Ice Princess float and I put white lights on the Ice Princess tree.  Joel reglued some candy on the Gingerbread house that were broken off and we put the lights on the snowman float.

Then I recovered the Christmas tree because Brad didn't like the way it looked an I agreed with him, even though it meant that he would have to paint it as soon as he got down there the next time and David took some crazy pictures. Then the most amazing of all things happened...Brad made the crystal ice glow!  Ben held the crystals while Brad cut holes in the bottom for the cords to go through so they can be plugged in.
Then we called it a night because we were exhausted and worried about being able to drive home.  I'll tell you what.  20 mile from home I crashed.  It was a good thing I wasn't driving.  I tried really hard to stay awake to keep Brad awake but I just couldn't. These next picture's were of us putting everything away.  And of David being David and Ben getting bugged.
Yeah, don't mind the two extra stinky trash compactors that we were working in between the whole time.  YUCK!
Bra'd ingenious bike pulling plan.  They were SUPER CUTE!!
Back at home we finally got Santa with 3 days to paint and put him together.  Brad drove back down to Vegas the next day during the day to see if he could see Frosty by the side of the road anywhere and never did find him so he had to just order a different one on line because there wasn't time to make a new one.
Ben and Emily helped out a lot because Emily's play had just ended and Ben had his phone and PS4 taken away and needed something to do.

This is the hole from the top.  Ben decided to stick hi head out and dab.
This was the last I saw of it.  Brad and JoEllen took it the next morning down to Summerlin and put lights all around the clouds, the boarder, put light up presents inside the opening of the bag and made it look darling.  JoEllen was the perfect person to take that last day.  She was nice to everyone and smiled the entire time.  I was ready to beat everyone while I was there.  I was so ornery.  They were so disrespectful to Brad and he just smiled too.  I guess I missed that gene.
Meanwhile why there were down there the replacement snowman came to Brad's house and he called me to go get it, put it together and see how it would work out.  It was a little see though so it needed to be lined.  I started to stitch a white sheet of Ashley's into it but it totally wasn't working out. Then I found a 1/4 of a can of spray adhesive and tried it and it worked!  So I went to Home Depot and got another can and got it all done.  The worst part of it all was the GLITTER!  It was everywhere!  But if you watch closely in the videos below you can see the different snowmen.  The mall people put a dumb flat snowman on there until we got ours to them on Monday.
Here are a couple videos clips from the news channels.  Apparently it's a bigger deal than we thought.

Brad's post

Paula actually went to the parade during Thanksgiving for her birthday with Charles.  None of us wanted anything to do with it after we were done. It was pretty funny.  I do have to say that Brad gets the oddest of odd jobs.  Now if you've read this entire thing and you know who the AquaBats are then stay tuned for our next adventure/odd job that starts next week!
