Power outage.

On Sunday as we were walking home we heard two giant BOOM's.  Like cannons.  When we got into the house the power was out.  It was crazy.  It was 4pm on a Fast Sunday and everyone was starving and I had no way to cook anything.  Luckily the Soli family has a fire pit and were roasting hotdog and invited us over.  It was perfect!  We roasted hotdogs and enjoyed the dark night with friends.  Later we heard that a car had run into a power pole and knocked the power out to all of Washington.  It was on 200 East on your way down to the animal shelter.  Apparently the guy had a medical problem and lost control of his car.  He hit the pole so hard that it broke it in half and the bottom part fell onto his car.  I hear he is doing fine.  Our power was out for almost 5 hours.  So we went over to the Wells house and played a fun game of SCUM until 9:30pm.  By the time we got home our part of the city had power.  But they had to do it bit by bit and reroute the power to a different substation so there were parts of the town that didn't have power until 5am!  Our friend Troy Meeks said, "I lost power once, but that was because of a Hurricane, no fun."  We all felt very grateful after that and were glad that we were all safe.
