Kai the Wonder Boy!

I was given permission by Holly to Blog her Facebook post on Kai and his journey through his new trial with diabetes.

It's been about six weeks since Kai was taken to the ER and diagnosed with type1 diabetes. 😢 . He gives himself about 4-7 shots💉 each day of insulin and more pricks to test his blood. It's been a learning process and he's been awesome through it all. He was having a hard time at school feeling emotional and not wanting to go so he has been home the last two weeks and been a great helper. He just got back from three days at diabetes camp and was really excited to show me his $1200 worth of insulin he was given at the end. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers, thanks for the love 💞
His new mug says...Mmmm Carbs.  With a hole in the middle of it.  His dog tags around his neck are actually his medical ID.
I talked with him tonight at FHE and asked him how camp was.  He loved it.  They had rappelling and all kinds of cool scout camp kind of stuff.  There was even a kid from his school there.  He said that the kid took his end of level test early so that he didn't have to go back to school and his family went on vacation but he was glad that he knew someone that was there.  What a struggle this has been for him and his family to find his new normal.  But I'm sure that he will be able to do it.  He is a tough kid!
