4th of July fun!

Our trip to 7 Peaks ended up being up in Salt Lake because the Provo one was closed because of a chemical spill.  But it ended up being great.  We liked it better than Provo.

 We had fun all day and went non-stop for hours and hours!  Right before decided to go we all went to the lazy river and Ben looked back, right at the wrong time, and hit his head on this island and popped it right open.   The lifeguards tried to steri-strip it but we called Mason and Joel took Ben to his office and got him stitched up.

 Later that night we 'hung" out at the Dry Creek Trail Park just east of State Street in Lehi.  It was such a secluded park.  So nice.  The boys brought their hammocks and hung out.  While the rest of us played card games and roasted marshmallows.

 The next morning we got up early and went to see the Provo Freedom Festival Hot Air Balloons.  We haven't done this for awhile.  We ran the 5K a couple years ago and missed the balloons completely.  So it was fun to be right in the middle of them this year. 

 It was also fun to have Sarah and Andy and their kids with us.  They come once a year and this year was super special.  We get them now and then they will come to St. George for Josh's Eagle Scout and Sophie's farewell.

 That night we went to Steve's for fireworks and fun.  Paula played volleyball with the little kids.  They had a blast.  They pre-adults, Abby, Sophie, Isaac and Abby friends played cards.

 The most memorable moment of the night was this picture right here.  These three had been talking to Abby about going on a mission and at that very moment she decided that she needed to go.  She started her papers later that week!  It was so great!

 Ben was miserable.  He just wanted a pain pill and to go to sleep.

Missionary Yard Sale

We had a great Missionary Yard Sale.  We had neighbors bring food, clothing and other stuff over to our house to sell to help raise money to help get Sophie out on her mission.  Some things were kinda crazy, some things were special and close to Sophie's own heart that she made herself.  But each sold and were sacrificed for a greater good.

 All except this green couch bed.  I blame the fact that we couldn't get Ben off of it.

 He literally slept on it all day.  See what I did there with the sign.  "With sleeper"  We ended up keeping it and putting it in the room that David slept in and moving David into Sophie's room.

 Our one little miracle was that there was a lady that had a bunch of stuff that she bought and as she left she saw a sign that I had made that said, "We interrupt this house for Baseball Season".  It literally cost me $2.  She told me that she just spent her last dime and wondered if she could trade a dress for Sophie for the sign.  I told her that she could just have the sign for free and she wouldn't have it.  She asked Sophie what her favorite color was and left with the sign.  I figured we would never see her again.  10 minutes later she showed up with this dress.  It is a LuLaRoe dress that costs $49!  And it still had the tag on it.  Apparently she has a thing for buying dresses and never wears them so she brought this one for Sophie.  Sophie loves it!  It even has pockets!  It was a fun and interesting yard sale.  I'm glad I only do them when I have a missionary going out.

Sophie's little guppies are going to miss her.  She is a great coach.

 Jeff had a grasshopper friend who hung out on his hat all day.  And Josh sported some of Sophie's last designs.

 Every year we try to take an end of year photo to mark what we've accomplished and to compare it to last years.  This was last years.

Next year we won't have Sophie and we might not have Josh depending on when he gets his call. It'll be a different picture.  But it'll be good to know that they are where they need to be.  Good kids.

Sophie's 19th!

Nothin' but stuff she needs for her mission and luggage to pack it all in.  Poor kid.  Oh well, that's what you get when you are leaving in 1 month to Florida.  Woo Hoo! Capri's, BOM Socks, and a BIKE LOCK!

It's green with little bows on it so she can find it easily in the midst of all the black baggage at the airport.  Happy 19th!  We love you and are so Proud of you and the choices that you make.
