Last Basketball games for Ben

So Ben's last basketball games just happen to fall on his birthday!    Shayne brought a great big helium balloon and embarrassed him. It was great.  His first game was at 10 and his last game was at 3 and he won them both!   David was on camera patrol.  He did a great job taking pictures!  The tall skinny ones are from my phone.  We didn't get any picture's of his first game because Joel and I had to leave early for Leila's funeral and Shayne had to hold birthday balloons.  Hahaha.

For some reason this team liked to foul Ben which was a mistake because he made all of his free throws!   He even had a couple technical foul free throws that he made.

He had a great season and loved playing with all his friends but is glad that it is over so he can concentrate on rugby.

Leila Barber Sullivan

Grandma Sullivan passed away on February 1st.  She was 91 years old and had lived an amazing life filled with service for others. Her last days were spent in the Meadows Retirement Center were she continued to serve those there.  She will be missed here but I am sure she is having a great reunion in Heaven with Hal and the rest of the family.
The funeral was beautiful.  Jillyn and Joyce gave a fun talk as the daughters and Kyle gave a great talk representing all the grandkids.  The closing song, "Just For Now" was gorgeous.  Randy gave a beautiful closing prayer.  The cemetery was peaceful and the luncheon afterwards was very nice.  We are blessed to have known Leila and know that we will see her again.

We made sure to stop by and see Grandpa Scott and David while we were there.

56 of their 89 points!

So let's just start out by saying that Ben is a BEAST in this sport.  He is by far the best 8th grade rugby player in Southern Utah.  This week they play 3 games and scored a total of 89 points.  Ben, himself made 51 of those points!  David had a Try himself which added another 5 points for the team.  So the Beckstrand Boys combined for 56 of the 89 points!  I don't know a bout you but I'd say that was pretty good especially when, if you add the total of the other three teams points together it only adds up to 41.  89-41. Great job Ben and David!   We are now 9 and 1 for the season.  This week Josh was in charge of taking picture's so...I have videos for you.  The first one is a 2 minute clip of Ben's greatness and the 2nd one is 8 minutes of why they are so amazing as a team and it also has David's Try in it.  Have fun watching.  I know I did.

Josh's Last Jr. Prom!

So, Josh went through a slump with some things and didn't really want to go to Jr. Prom but with good friends and a good little sister that lives across the street that puts up with him and that decided to go to Jr. Prom with him 3 days before, he went.  They all had a great time.  Gwen came over and borrowed one of Sophie's dresses and Jalee and I made flowers.  Unfortunately, our family had to help the Soccer team with a service/fundraiser that morning so they didn't do a day date. But, Jalee took their picture's which I can't wait to see and I cooked Lasagna, cheesy garlic bread and corn for dinner.  Jalee did desert.  And Shayne and I decorated Riley's house, where they ate, because his parents were out of town.  It all turned out great.
