The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

Dixie High School is currently doing The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee!  So of course we had to go to it. It was great!  Josh Scott had them call Joel up on stage to be a contestant.  He was the last of the three extra's to stay up there.  They actually had to give him an extra word to make him mess up to get him off stage.  It was hilarious!  I had seen the play before out at Tuacahn but he hadn't and had no idea what he was in for.  It was so great.  We brought Shayne Konnor and all of the boys.  We were told, of course, not to take pictures but I did anyway.  Cody Bear was his helper.  Cody Bear is my favorite character.
 His first word was COW.

He asked for the definition and they guy said, "it's a cow."  Then he asked for him to use it in a sentance and the guy said, "Just spell COW!"
Then they had a dance break.

Then he had his next word that had only been written once in the English language.  Smooglickin.  It was a type of soup or ale from the Sottish region.  He apparently got it right and so he sat down.
So then they had to call him right back up because they needed him to lose and get off stage.  Hahaha.  So they gave him the word. XEROPHTHALMIA.  He started to get it right and forgot to put the PH and was dinged.  So the Thug who was getting his service hours in gave him a juice box and they walked in him down to his seat and sang the goodbye song.  It was awesome!

This is such a fun play.  I'm so glad that we have such great friends like the Scotts.
