Ben's Birthday and the Harlem Globe Trotters.

Ben turned 10 on the 10th.   It was his Golden Birthday and he wanted to do something special.  His idea was to go down to the 4 Corners.  That is not my idea of special.  So I bought tickets to the Harlem Globe Trotters who where coming to the SUU Centrum in Cedar.  We took Sloan since it was his birthday too and we also took Ben's friend Tyson who was on his basketball team because Joel was going to the Globe Trotters with a group of kids from his school.  We had the BEST seats you could get.  We sat on the row right behind the timers table just down from the bench.  We talked to the coach Sweet Lou Dunbar a bunch of times and Big Easy came over and talked to Sloan and Ben and asked them how old they were because I made a sign for them to hold up saying, "Happy Birthday to us!"  He asked Ben if he was dating anyone and Sweet Lou chimed in and said that he had to get a job first.   At one point we did the YMCA song and Sweet Lou came over and commented on how Josh can't spell.  It was super funny.

Ben got a lot of fun things for his birthday.  A Kite, Josh's old Weblo's book (fun huh?), Jerky (his favorite), a new scooter because those don't seem to last more than a year around our place, Kangaroo Scripture Covers from his favorite missionary Shayne and last but not least a Lakers Piggy Bank that he'd been wanting since Christmas since Joel got a Cowboys one.  Joel thought it was so cool.  So I had to take a picture of him taking a picture of it on his phone so he could show everyone it at work.

Here is MC Ramsey.  He was the announcer for the game and was gorgeous!  I got his autograph after the game.

Here is the team coming out of the tunnel.

Big Easy doing the half court hook shot blindfolded.

This is how close we were to the bench.

If you look beyond Big Easy you can see a section of yellow shirts.  That's Red Rock Canyon School.  That's why at half time Joel came over and sat with us in David's seat.  Our seats were MUCH better.

Sling Shot and Bam Bam were awesome but everyone loved MOOSE!  He was hilarious  and could slam dink like no other.  It was cool.

Here is Ben getting Moose' autograph.

Always making fun of the ref.

More making fun of the Ref.

The finale'.  "The Totter Bounce".  The new Globe Trotter dance.  It was such a fun night.  Ben, David and Sloan all bought balls and went around and had the players sign them afterwards.  On the way home David felt bad that they all had a ball and Tyson didn't so he gave him his ball.  It was such a neat thing for him to do.  He's such a good kid.  He definitely has his dad's tender heart.
