Easter Egg Hunt @ Grandpa Shelton's

Since we were going to be up North for Ben's rugby game, the kids all had school off and it was conference weekend we all decided to go up north for Easter this year.  It also made it nice so that Grandpa didn't have to drive.  We started out the day with the first session of conference.  Then as soon as Steve and Juanelle's family got in we had the Easter Egg hunt and then I ran Ben out to Herriman High School to meet up with the team, while everyone else stayed to eat lunch and watch the other session of conference before coming out to watch.   Emily decided to take her conference notes on Josh's shoulder.  She has taken Sophia's place in the family.  She is the incredibly smart dumb blonde that is amazing talented at drawing whatever she sees.  She wants to open a tattoo parlor with Sophie when Sophie get home and call it...Righteous Tattoos.  They will all be Christian oriented tattoos or Henna type ones for bald people going through cancer treatments.  I made this awesome cake.  JoEllen Ruby and Matty colored.  David, Ben and Henry watched it downstairs.

It was an incredible Saturday morning session ...
Millions of Mormons made history Saturday morning when they simultaneously stood where they were around the world and sustained President Russell M. Nelson as the 17th leader of the LDS Church at the start of an international general conference.
They also witnessed President Nelson alter the face of the senior leadership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He called the first Asian-American apostle, Elder Gerrit W. Gong, 64, and the first Latin American apostle, Elder Ulisses Soares, 59. Elder Soares was emotional as the two men moved to their new seats with the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
The news came as part of the historic solemn assembly conducted by President Henry B. Eyring, second counselor in the First Presidency, after the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sang, "We Thank Thee O God for A Prophet."

Also, President Dallin H. Oaks of the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the calls of eight General Authority Seventies and 55 Area Seventies during the Saturday afternoon session of the April 2018 general conference. He also announced that Elder Carl B. Cook and Elder Robert C. Gay will serve in the Presidency of the Seventy, filling the vacancies left by the calls of Elder Gerrit W. Gong and Elder Ulisses S. Soares to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.  One of those 8 was our very our President Steven R. Bangerter!  He was our area seventy and was the one that was here with Elder Echo Hawk to set Joel apart as a member of the stake presidency.   He is amazing!

You will have to ask Josh about all of it.  I know there are Mustard seeds, A Hawk for Elder Echo Hawk, 70x70 +491, Love, Forgiveness, Repentance and Apostolic something, I can't read it.
The final product.  Including a Canadian Maple leaf with a little heart inside it.
This is what the kids did while Grandpa and his helpers hid the eggs.

And they're off!!!  Big kids were sequestered to the back back and the littles to the back lawn.  It was just like every single year that we've done since time began.  It's the best tradition we have.  I'm so glad that the weather was perfect and that we were able to have fun with the cousin and grandma and grandpa.
Josh found one way on in the tree but he couldn't reach it.  So, Ben came over.  They are the exact same height.  Neither could reach it.  So Nick went over and took it.
Everyone started stealing them from each other.
Ben tried to do a basket flip onto the water well and all his eggs fell out.  He's a keeper.
David found the one egg in the midst of all the balls under the deck.  Andy and Steve watched from a safe distance on the deck.
