Haka and Awards

Ben's team has been learning the Haka for state playoff's.  They are very excited.  Suene is going to cry like a baby when this season is over because he loves these boys so much.  He has his mission portal open and is getting his teeth finished off.  He had some major repairs to do in there first.  But he is excited to get out on a mission.  They had a bye last week and this weeks game is still up in the air.  Then play offs begin.  Finals are Mother's Day Weekend.  We are STOKED!!!
We didn't go to the Swim Team banquet this year.  We were more than happy to miss it (because of all of the drama) because Josh had a soccer game. So, Josh was called down to the office to pick up his awards that he would have gotten there.  (Dani wasn't about to bring them to our house).  Josh came home from school with these baby's!  We were really proud of the Academic All-Region.  But the other one's were just too funny.  I'll explain as we go.

This would have been a pretty cool trophy, if he wasn't the ONLY Sr. boy that swam. Well, I take that back.  Riley swam too...off and on.
This one was by far the biggest joke of them all...His JR VARSITY LETTER!
For some strange reason swimming has it's own set of rules.  It does not follow any of the UHSAA rules that all of the other sports have to follow.  Like, you cannot play on a high school team if you play on a club team and if you are a Sr. you cannot play on the JV team, therefore you cannot get a JV Letter.  So, we all had a good laugh at this nice piece of paper.  Because that's all it is anyway, a piece of paper.  To actually "Letter" in a sport means nothing today.  Back in my day you would get an physical pin that is the Letter of your school for the first time that you Letter and a bar for every year that you Letter after that.  Then you would pin those to your Letterman's jacket and they were a sign of how athletic and cool you were.  Now you just get a piece of paper that anyone could print up on their computer.  In fact Josh joked about making up a better on that said VARSITY on it instead.
Then he also got this award from Mr Higgins, whom we love.  We all laughed at it because it is the bests Mr. Higgins can do with what he has to work with.  Josh is NEVER at school.  Look closely at the bottom sentence.   It wasn't even a full week!  Hahaha!  They had Monday off!  Oh man.  That's the only week that Josh made it the entire time.  Good Job Joshy!  We love you and couldn't be prouder!
