PVHS Soccer

On Tuesday we played Hurricane and they are the only team that is worse than us and we still almost lost to them.  It was pretty bad.  We won 3-2.  They scored 2 because the first one was a penalty kick on someone using hands in the goal box.  And the other one is because for some reason we have a kid that loves to kick it back to the defenders for some strange reason and the other team always out runs it and kicks it in their goal.  It's SOOOO dumb.  That kid has done it EVERY SINGLE game.  It drives me insane.  I cringe when he gets the ball and last year he was our best kid.  I don't know what happened to him but he has zero confidence now and doesn't take the ball down the field and doesn't shoot the ball EVER!  BUGGG!  Anyway, at least we won.

He wanted me to braid his hair and it has gotten way to long on the sides to do just one braid down the middle and let the sides hang out.  So, I had to do three and pull the sides in tight.  It was gross. He refuses to cut his hair until after soccer.  It will be so nice when it's gone!

Then we played Dixie on Thursday and thought we were going to get our butts handed to us.  Dixie and Snow Canyon are by far the best teams this year in our Region.  Our goal is just to make into the play offs.  Last year we missed it by 1 game.  We thought that Dixie would 8 run rule us like Snow Canyon did.  BUT...we tied them 2-2 and went into DOUBLE overtime!!!  We lost by 1.  ONLY 1!  Woo Hoo!  Not by 8 like we thought.  Can you believe it?  It was a little boost that we needed so bad.  The only problem was that three of our favorite Seniors didn't get to play at all.  Josh, Gonzo and Brandon.  They just sat there and talked the whole time while Freshmen and Sophomores played instead.  It was frustrating.  But, they shook it off afterwards and went bowling together.  Joel and my goal when we decided to make Josh do soccer last year was not to make him into an excellent soccer player.  It was to make him get friends.  Ever since Sophie graduated Josh has been a loner.  So, we forced him to play soccer and even though he didn't play a single second of this game, I wanted to cry because it was his most successful game thus far.
