Well...It started off with a quick 1-0 in the first minute. Riley was having a bad day I guess. He feet were like cement. Within 10 more minutes they had 2 more points. At the end of the half it was 3-1. We had 2 more shots go in, both to be re-called do to something or other. It was SUPER frustrating! Dixie scored 2 more making it 5-1. With 10 minutes left on of the Dixie boys high kicked Nau, our Japanese foreign exchange student, right in the face. It was crazy! Nau was standing straight up. He wasn't even going for the ball. The kid jumped up like he was going to roundhouse kick the ball and completely missed the ball and clocked Nau right in the face and took him out. His face was a bloody mess and they hurried and called the ambulance. Coach Duckworth and the trainer gave him a blessing, stopped the bleeding and put a collar around his neck and waited for the ambulance. Well, the stupid city of St. George decided to save money and got rid of their ambulance dept. and contracted out that service with Gold Cross. Some out of towners that do NOT know this town. It is scary. They couldn't find out how to get to Dixie High School's football field. IT'S 7 BLOCKS STRAIGHT DOWN THE STREET FROM THE HOSPITAL!!! So after 20 minutes, the coaches took him to the ER themselves. When the game started up again they took Riley out and finally put The Great GONZO in! And a minute later Josh got to go in too. FINALLY! Gonzo held them from scoring again. I wish Gonzo had been in the whole game. But...I'm not the coach. They play Snow Canyon at home on Friday, without Nau. We will loose that game. Also, we lost this game because Kelvin Arementa decided to quit. Just quit. Not tell anyone, just stopped coming to practices. He came and watched the game last night too. I hope he felt bad.
This first picture is of Traxten, Josh and Gonzo keeping each other warm on the bench.
